FINALLY on netflix. 

this film was breathtaking and utterly heartbreaking. mind you, i consume period pieces like water but i found this one to be something special. it was dark, it was gritty and it was gorgeous. i am a huge fan of mads mikkelsen (see valhalla rising/ the hunt/ and hannibal) and his performance gave me goosebumps. alicia vikander was stunning as well and their chemistry together almost trumps elizabeth and darcy. almost. 

the director, nikolaj arcel, wrote the screenplay for the girl with the dragon tattoo (no surprises there) and i really really really REALLY need him to make more movies. come on man. 

also, this film should've won big time for best foreign film. sorry amour. but really.
